We are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another - (Rom 12:5)

I TREAT OTHERS AS I WOULD HAVE OTHERS TREAT ME

God's presence in man, as man, is central to several religions, but expressed differently. The ancient Greeks had many gods, all personified, mostly remote from man but in some cases also mystically within man. The Jewish Master, Jesus-Christ, became synonymous with the mystical presence of God in man. His name fulfilled the Greek need for personification and is the link between Greek religion and the one invisible God of the Jews. Through it a new understanding of Jewish and Greek spiritual ideas became possible.

God-as-man includes us all, knows no individuals apart from Itself. We perceive others as separate from us, but at bottom we are all One, and what we do to others we do to ourselves, even if we do not realise it. We imagine we can appropriate Good for our individual benefit, even divert it from others. This is illusion, and our disappointment, sooner or later, deep. So treat others as you would have others treat you, for you express the same, One, Divine presence.

Weekly quote number 2

With God all things are possible - (Mt 19:29)

I OPEN MY MIND AND HEART TO LOVE

With God all things are possible - (Mt 19:29)

I OPEN MY MIND AND HEART TO LOVE

"A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" goes the saying. Mankind's gain in knowledge and understanding of his material world is astounding but it does not approach All-knowledge.

So, after we have exhausted all worldly skills, there remains All-knowledge, All-presence, All-power, for Which our worst predicament is as nothing. Then turn to Love and say "Father, there is nothing more I can do. In humility and utter trust I leave this problem to You." Make space in your heart and mind so that His Infinite good may flow into your reality. To the best of your ability turn your attention elsewhere, best of all to someone else in need, to something you may give.

Today's "scientific" world has come to discount the possibility of "miracles". It is right, for in God's kingdom are no miracles, only Law. It is our lack of understanding that demands miracles. Minds and hearts open to Love are our instruments of salvation.

FROM TRUE ORIGIN WITHIN DO I GO FORTH

Today's global religion of materialism has its rituals - self-effort, conforming, speculating, influencing, and many more. They are our modern equivalents of pagan symbols and offerings - intended to appease our modern god.

But all the time the true Author of everything real - All-presence, All-power, All-knowledge - lies silently within us and all around us waiting for our acknowledgement and commitment of ourselves to Him. Then all the "things" that we need shall be ours for He knows what we need before we ask. This great promise falls like a pebble cast at the pane of our materialist consciousness. It sounds ridiculous, and we reject it.

Nevertheless this same, materialist self, inured to its familiar liturgy, deeply knows Truth, knows that the only way forward is first to return to true Origin. Inevitably, sooner or later, we must turn to Him and, in humility, start on the path laid for us from the beginning.
