The Truth will make you free - (Jn 8:32)
I give and forgive because in God alone is my wholeness

Why do we cling to resentment? It is because we believe someone has taken away some of the substance of our wellbeing. They "have" something of ours, be it material, or merely moral - like some of our dignity - and until we get it back we cannot be whole.

But God is Wholeness. He cannot be chipped. No fragments of Him lie somewhere else. And He would have you know and experience this. In Wholeness is your imagined loss instantly restored. Your substance never "came" from anywhere and cannot "go" anywhere. It always was, always IS.

So you must forgive those who harm you. Until you do, you imprison yourself in a dark cell, away from substance and light. You must give of yourself, for this is an essential activity of faith. It says "Hereby do I prove that God is the endless Source of all I could ever need."

Do not be conformed to this world but be transferred
by the renewal of your mind - (Rom 12:2)
I open myself to the true Source of life

Daily a small voice deep within us calls on us to do things differently. We may experience it as niggling disappointment with all that is familiar. Sometimes we may become downright irritated by our environment, and even find ourselves lashing out at people and circumstances. Then truly we know we must do something about it.

Your mind is like a radio receiver in relation to universal Mind, it is capable of receiving and articulating vastly more thoughts. There is no need to keep tuned into the same old programs. Start looking radically at yourself and at your life. Those who love you and depend on you will still love and support you if you make positive changes.

The very fabric of your body is continually being replaced, offering you new health and vigour if you will accept it. Be prepared today to let go of the past with all its staleness. Let yesterday's person die. What wells-up within you now is free of constraints for it originates in the true Source of life deeply within you.

Not even in Israel have I found such faith - (Mt 8:10)
Every man and woman is the child of God

The story of Jesus-Christ contains many accounts of Divine healing and reconciliation involving people who were not Jews, nor even his followers. It was their faith, their trust alone that fulfilled God's Law. Herein is a great lesson in religious tolerance. It places the relationship between man and God above religion.

Truth reaches out to the reasoning faculty in all people, their ability to think as well as feel. It is intense feelings that generally bedevil religious divisions, while reason shows that there is much in common among the great religions of the world and their modern offshoots - One Divine Creator, a human figure or figures who represent or exemplify God's law, the ever present Spirit of God permeating man and all his experience.

Our acceptance of God's presence in all people, and of their ways of realising this, is more than mere tolerance; our acceptance itself fulfils the spiritual law of Oneness - of God's supremacy in all things.

Weekly Quote 30

Each shall receive his own reward according to his own labour - (1 Cor 3:8)
In doing what I can for others, I serve in love

It is good to study Truth, to listen to lectures or sermons, and to meditate, but we must do more than this - we must also work. By our fruits we shall be known. Of what use is it to study Truth if we do not put the teachings into practice?

Most of us have to work for a living, but we must also work for others, and each must choose in what way he can serve best. Horace Traubel tells us that we can speak out when others are silent. We can say man when others say money. We can stay up when others are asleep. We can keep working when others have stopped to play. We can give life big meanings when others give it little meanings. We can say love when others say hate. We can say every man when others say one man. We can try events by a hard test when others try them by an easy test. And we can give ourselves to life when other men refuse to do so.

Find out how best you can serve, and serve in love.

The Law of the Lord is perfect - (Ps 19:7)
I will not fear for I am under the divine protection

Can you imagine what our small world - much less the vast universe - would be like if the Law of the Lord were not "perfect"? The average man dwells in a state of almost perpetual insecurity - and why? Because he does not stop to think that, since God is governing His entire cosmos, he himself has nothing whatever to fear.

The Creator is Order, Love and Power which means that discord does not exist in Him, that love being His overriding attribute, He cares for all that He has made and, Power being one of His other qualities, He has the capability to uphold, maintain and sustain all that He cherishes. This being so, wherefore do we doubt, we of little faith?

If we would look about us we should see that an omniscient, omnipotent Entity is in charge. None of the mighty forces of Nature ever gets completely out of hand; storms may arise, but they subside; volcanoes may erupt, but grass grows again; the seas sometimes engulf the land, but they recede. God sustains what He has brought forth and Progress in All-good is ever maintained.
