Weekly Quote 9

The Lord is a God of justice - (Is 30:18)

I SURRENDER TO MY CONSCIENCE AND MY HIGHEST GOOD

In ancient times were many gods, and some of them unpredictable and tyrannical. But the God of the Jews, although partisan and harsh in His punishment, was held to be just. Over time this concept of God mellowed and spread, for it is a small god who favours certain people, places and practices. Finally it is understood that God's justice is built into His world and that we judge ourselves by our attitude and behaviour.

There is no appeal to this indwelling Judge. Do not try to justify yourself through a moral code for He is impervious to objective argument. We know Him in ourselves as conscience or we do not Know Him at all. In ignorance we condemn ourselves to pain, suffering and unwelcome death.

Surrender yourself to Love and live each moment as faithfully as you can. Do not peep around corners to see whether good is on its way. Nonchalantly expect your highest good in all things. Then you fulfil indwelling Justice and all is well.
